well sometimes, when your not mentally stable and need help with your emotions, maybe theres an emotional imbalance in the brain that can happen. if you have control over your emotions, and rational, then this could be avoided, but what he went thru was bullying and unfortunately that can be emotionally crippling, i would hope that he learns that some people are mean, and he shouldnt let those people stay in his life, he needs to get more confidencs and believe in himself that he is valuable, and his true friends would never use him or hurt him, and that he deserves happiness, and to never let anyone decide his happiness for him. no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
