What Are Some Basic Makeup Products and Tools for a Feminine Look?

Personally, I dislike the "cake-face" look. Therefore, I'd really like to know which products I should buy in order to complete my "natural" collection. As previously mentioned, I do not love wearing lots of obvious makeup at once, however, I do like putting on some feminine colors. Which products should I invest in? Additionally, what are the different types of brushes I will need to apply all makeup? (I do not own any concealer or foundation, and I do not plan on buying any. My skin is clear on its own!)
